During the lightning protection construction of the Daocheng Ring Array Solar Radio Imaging Telescope Project in the second phase of the Zhongke Yuanwu Project, our company proposed to adopt three sets of lightning protection systems, lightning rods and lightning protection nets: Install lightning rods or lightning towers around the telescope array as the main lightning protection facilities.
The function of a lightning rod is to guide lightning to the ground. At the same time, the grounding system usually has a grounding grid or grounding rod to ensure that each device can be effectively grounded to avoid lightning current from causing harm to the system.
Lightning diversion system: Set up a diversion system to ensure that when lightning current is guided into the grounding system through lightning rods, it can flow smoothly and unimpeded into the ground to avoid damage to equipment caused by reverse current or high-voltage waves.
