  • SPD :

    SPD is used for 380V first-level lightning protection in the main power distribution system. It is installed in parallel at the power incoming end of the main distribution cabinet or distribution box of the building. It is equipped with 35mm electrical guide rails and can use the Kevin connection method. The power supply must be cut off before installation, and live operation is strictly prohibited.

    Installing:

    When installing, please connect according to the installation diagram. L1, L2, and L3 are live wires, N is neutral wire, and PE is ground wire. Do not connect them incorrectly. After the installation is completed, turn on the automatic circuit breaker switch and check whether the working status is normal.

    Use:

    During the use of the lightning protection module, the fault display window status should be regularly detected and checked.   • The first-level protection discharges the direct lightning current, or discharges the huge energy conducted when the power transmission line suffers a direct lightning strike.
  • Install a voltage-limiting surge protector at the junction of each zone (including LPZ1 zone) after the first protection zone as a second, third or higher level of protection.
  • The second-level protector is a protective device against the residual voltage of the front-level protector and the induced lightning strikes in the area. When a large amount of lightning energy is absorbed by the front-level protector, some of it is still quite large for the equipment or the third-level protector.
  • The energy will be transmitted and needs to be further absorbed by the second-level protector. At the same time, the transmission line passing through the first-level lightning protector will also induce electromagnetic pulse radiation from lightning strikes. When the line is long enough, the energy of induction lightning becomes large enough, requiring a second-level protector to further discharge the lightning energy.
  • The third-level protector protects the residual lightning energy that passes through the second-level protector. According to the withstand voltage level of the protected equipment, if two levels of lightning protection can limit the voltage to be lower than the withstand voltage level of the equipment, only two levels of protection are required; if the withstand voltage level of the equipment is low, four levels or even More levels of protection.
  • To choose SPD, you first need to understand some parameters and their working principles.
  • The 10/350μs wave is a waveform that simulates a direct lightning strike, and the waveform energy is large; the 8/20μs wave is a waveform that simulates lightning induction and lightning conduction.
  • The nominal discharge current In refers to the peak current flowing through the SPD and the 8/20μs current wave.
  • The maximum discharge current Imax is also called the maximum flow rate, which refers to the maximum discharge current that the SPD can withstand at one time using an 8/20μs current wave.
  • The maximum continuous withstand voltage Uc (rms) refers to the maximum effective AC voltage or DC voltage that can be continuously applied to the SPD.
